What are the essentials to good health and an active life?

Americans are on the brink of disaster – a homegrown terrorism called obesity. For the first time in nearly two centuries, children are forecast to have a shorter life expectancy than their parents.
FACT: More than 190 million Americans are overweight or obese.
FACT: Obesity-related diseases are a 147 billion medical burden each and every year.
FACT: Childhood obesity has tripled in the last 30 years.
A new study in the journal, The Lancet, found that there is also a global obesity crisis. In 2008, more than 500 million people worldwide were found to be obese – that translates to one-in-ten adults.
We are living in incredibly stressful times. The media loves it. Our bodies hate it. “Good morning,” the television commentator announces. And then he or she proceeds to tell us why it’s not.
We all handle this bombardment of information in different ways, but sometimes using the same vehicles: excesses in food consumption, alcohol, and prescription drugs are just examples of our refuges. We seek solutions from our healthcare providers not realizing we are a part of the problem…if not the problem. Our healthcare should not be dependent on a government plan. It must rely on a personal plan.
“We have met the enemy and he is us,” was a quote from Pogo, a comic strip character authored by Walt Kelley. He first used the quote on a poster for Earth Day in 1970. How appropriate is that? We are destroying the two things most dear to us in life because of our own abuses.
Modern medicine has entered an incredible era. New diagnostics, new techniques, and new drugs. However, it still focuses on one, isolated element of complex health problems. It still tends to reduce each illness to a single cause. Ridiculous. With all this modern technology we witness obesity beyond parallel, not only among adults, but children as well. Cancers, heart disease, diabetes are increasing at alarming rates. We not only have to ask ourselves why, but how?
Most people are fully aware of exactly what they need to be doing to improve their lives. We should start applying that knowledge and take accountability for our failures and successes. Replace your wishbone with a backbone.
Our Energy Medicine project is not the solution. You are. We just help you to get there by being there for you.
