Jerry’s Personal Goal by Thumper

by Admin on April 30, 2010

Jerry gained strength and range of motion as our sessions continued. Day by day, I
could see his spirits lift as his new-found strength turned into courage. He
started hitting golf balls on the range and even took a golf lesson. This was a
game he was sure he would never be able to play again.

His courage took him back to his love…his Harley. Short excursions on the bike
became a confidence builder. So much so that he made a statement to me during
one of his sessions.

“I won’t be here for a few days at the end of April and first part of May,”
Jerry exclaimed. “I’m gonna take a trip, a motorcycle trip.”

“Really,” I smiled.

“Yep. Some of my buddies from Minnesota are going to meet me in Phoenix and we
will go from there.”

I’m not sure about this, I thought immediately. The new onset of “feeling good”
sometimes replaces logic and common sense.

“Are you ready for this?” I asked.

“I don’t know. But it’s something I need to do,” he sighed.

“All right. Let’s work a little harder. You with me?”

“Absolutely!” he answered.
